The GALA programs employs both PREVENTIVE and RESTORATIVE approach in providing support to the street children. The Preventive approach is designed for impoverished children who are blessed to still have families/relatives caring for them but are unable to attend school due to lack of funds. The Restorative approach, on the other hand, is for kids who have gone through traumatic experiences and would need to go through restoration and recovery. Both types of approaches are applied in the 4-part program of GALA.
Handling of each child is done according to their different needs and capacity. The 4-part program, as listed below, has effectively prepared all the kids under our care to meet our ultimate goal – to pave the way for them to become significant members of the society.

EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Both the scholars and in-house GALA kids are assured of primary and secondary education in public schools. Some of the exemplary GALA kids are fortunate to be given scholarships in our affiliated private schools. GALA provides their daily allowances for transportation and snack. GALA also provides the school supplies, funds for projects, daily tutorials and assist them in their projects and other school needs. GALA’s educational program also ensures that all the GALA kids are doing well in school. We also provide assistance to GALA kids who are in the collegiate level.
SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT
To instill stronger Christian values among the GALA kids, they have weekly bible studies, attend small group meetings, and join retreats or other special church events. We believe that the Word of God and developing an intimate relationship with God are the keys to truly transformed lives. Part of the program is also to ensure that the entire family of the kids will go through spiritual development programs offered by Christ’s Commission Fellowship.
HEALTH IMPROVEMENT
Most of the impoverished children and their families, neglect the value of nourishment and hygiene. Through GALA, all the children under our care are given better nourishment through a well-balanced diet. They are constantly given orientations on proper hygiene and personal health care. Vaccines and regular check-ups are also given to them to prevent spread of illnesses and diseases.
Scholars on the other hand, are regularly monitored to ensure that they have a healthy environment at home.
SOCIAL ENHANCEMENT
This may be the most difficult program we have for the kids, especially those who need restoration. Most of the GALA kids are socially detached, introverts, ill-mannered and has little regard for others. We intentionally expose the kids to people by allowing birthday parties and other social events to be hosted or sponsored by our partners and supporters, in or outside the shelter. This is the opportunity for the kids to learn how to properly behave in front of people and in public places. We also allow them to visit places such as theatres and museums where they can learn more about their culture and history.
